4 Leftovers You Should Avoid Eating At Any Cost, Especially The 4th One

Everyone of us reheats the leftovers from the food eaten before, and sometimes this can be very dangerous, but this not apply for all foods. Some of the foods can make danger to the heath if you reheat them. Read below to find out whoa are they.

These are the most 4 dangerous foods that should not be reheated.

Chicken

Chicken is high in protein, and reheating changes this composition. You can reheat it if the meat inside is very hot. Also, make sure you eat the meat in two days, and no more.

Rice

Food Standard Agency claims that uncooked rice has spores of harmful bacteria that survive the first cooking process. Spores multiply if the rice is kept at room temperature, and thus cause numerous digestive issues.

Therefore, if you have leftovers, you better freeze them instead of keeping them in the fridge.

Vegetables

According to the Center for Food Safety, you should store the leftover vegetables at 40°F or freeze them if you store them for a longer time.

If kept at a room temperature, beets, celery, lettuce, and spinach accumulate nitrates, which might lead to a rare blood disorder in children known as methemoglobinemia.

Vegetable oil

Studies have found that reheated foods which have been cooked in vegetable oils can lead to a higher risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease.

Namely, the reheating of polyunsaturated oils which have linoleic acid (canola, corn oil, sunflower oil) releases HNE (4-hydroxy- trans-2-nonenal) which is a toxin from the fatty acids that lead to health issues, including liver problems, heart disease, some types of cancer, Huntington’s, and Alzheimer’s.
